Creating Capacity-Building Programs
Organizations depend on high-performing leaders. How do you ensure a steady flow of leaders who have the knowledge and skills to keep your group running smoothly and growing? Since 1994 I've helped develop systems that:
set indicators for measuring leaders capacity, and track them;
include short workshops and exercises in basic skills and competencies;
provide training for volunteer or staff trainers who deliver these workshops; and
monitor the success of the programs, draw conclusions, and refine the programs.
This work inspires me, because it spreads what we've learned about building strong organizations. And because it's based on measurable indicators of success, you can prove your program's impact and more easily raise funds and attract volunteers to keep it going.
